My work is driven by the belief that mental health resources and research are only as powerful as their accessibility. Too often, life-saving information and evidence-based tools are siloed within academic institutions or restricted by geographic and social barriers. I believe that public health research does not exist to remain within the confines of academia; its purpose is to aid communities, people, and real-time experiences.
This page serves as a living portfolio of my active initiatives. Whether through grassroots outreach, resource mapping, or knowledge translation, my goal is to chip away at the barriers between high-level data and the individuals who need it most. All work featured is done for free and is meant to be accessible. If you have questions or would like to chat, please reach out: seikaleebrown@gmail.com
Current Projects (scroll for more info)
Project 1: Free mental health education webinars for underserved global communities.
Project 2: A centralized and updated crisis-line "masterdoc" for the U.S.
Project 3: Translating new mental health literature into plain language on social media.
Project 1: Global Mental Health Education Series
Statement of Purpose: To provide free, evidence-based mental health education to underserved communities and regions lacking access to standardized educational resources.
Brief Explanation: In this project, I develop and facilitate webinars tailored to specific regional needs, with recent focuses on young women in Afghanistan and Nigeria. By translating complex concepts into accessible and culturally aware curricula, these sessions provide essential mental health literacy and foundational knowledge in environments where formal education on the subject is limited or restricted.
Project 2: The U.S. Crisis-Line Master Directory
Statement of Purpose: To create a centrally located and updated crisis line "masterdoc" for quick and easy accessibility.
Brief Explanation: In a difficult political and social climate, finding the right help quickly can be a major challenge. I am compiling a master directory of U.S. crisis lines to pull scattered resources into one clear, easy-to-use place. This project ensures that in a moment of crisis, the focus is on reaching out rather than searching for a reliable contact.

Project 3: Research in Plain Language
Statement of Purpose: To break down newly published mental health research into accessible, non-biased education for a non-academic audience.
Brief Explanation: Social media advocacy often relies on simplified infographics that can strip away the nuance of public health data. To offer a more substantive alternative, I use my platform (Instagram) to engage directly with new literature as it is published. I translate the technical "academic talk" into simplified language via posts that explain what the research actually says. This ensures that people can access and understand the latest findings in the field, offering them an opportunity to consume evidence-based research to form their own thoughts and opinions.
